![]() ![]() Video Samples: (keep in mind that I'm not the best player or have a good mic)Įdit: Mr. Songbird's customer service throughout every step is great. (this could have been because I am in San Diego which is about 2 hours from Songbird's shop. ![]() I bought it on Friday and I received in on Monday. According to Songbird, if these sales go well, which I suspect they have based on them selling out in minutes, they may plan to sell more in the Autumn.Įdit: See Songbird's reply below for an update on future availability.Īfter buying my ocarina, shipping was very quick. There is one more sale on March 17 of 20 more before the last ocarinas are auctioned. When I bought mine, I also had a coupon for 10% off. There have been two sales of 4 on March 1 and 20 on March 10, which was when I bought mine. Information and Purchasing: The SOL is currently only available in a limited production run of about 50 (rough estimate). The color output is very quick with only a minor delay and can also be used as a tuner in some regards. The tone overall is very calming and the addition of a visual element is also fascinating. It also does not require the usage of acute bending for the top notes and can reach the B below the tonic by slightly decreasing your breath. It plays clearly thoughout its range with a slight chiff on the lowest notes C and D and more pure at the top. The breath requirement is not very strong, stronger than some of mine like my Focalink double Alto C and double Soprano G but nothing close to a Fiehn, similar to my Songbird Dragontooth or Imperial City Triple Bass C. Summary: I really enjoy playing this ocarina and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I didn't find this to be much of an issue.Įxtras: This ocarina also came with a padded case, wireless charger, and a songbook/fingering chart. The ocarina is comfortable to play thoughout the range however, because of its compact size, it might be slightly difficult to balance on the top notes. The finger holes are fairly small, about the size of those on an Alto C. I have fairly skinny fingers which fall very naturally on the finger holes however, I don't see anything that would prevent people with larger hands from playing. The extra weight in the center for the electronics inhibit balance.Įrgonomics: The SOL is comfortable for me to play. The SOL is also pretty light despite the additional electronics and weighs somewhere in between an Alto C and a double Alto C. It is about the same size as my Fire SG by STL. It is about 3.25 inches wide and 5.75 inches long. Size and Weight: The SOL is very compact for an Alto G ocarina. The SOL is charged with a wireless charger. The flats combine the colors of the notes they are in between so an F# (B concert pitch) would be teal. This color scheme follows the rainbow of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet and repeats starting at the octave. The SOL responds to each note you play by outputing light in a specific color corresponding to the note: C (G concert pitch) is red, D (A concert pitch) is orange, E (B concert pitch) is yellow, etc. It has 7 translucent orbs in the middle which allows the light to shine though. Crystal clear high notes are effortless to play, and the beautiful tone of the Kokiri edition makes it the only plastic ocarina that sounds comparable to a high quality ceramic ocarina.Tuning The SOL is a transverse 10 hole Alto G with a range from G4 to C6.įeatures: The SOL comes in a metallic lustre finish. Unlike other plastic ocarinas, the Ocarina of Time Kokiri Edition was designed for musical precision and clarity. Thanks to this innovation, you get to play the exact ocarina that Link used to save Hyrule! As a result, the Kokiri edition features the identical button layout from the classic Zelda games and has a fingering system that easily translates to and from any of our other 6 hole ocarinas. The tuning system is like the English 6 hole pendant system. Though light in weight, the Kokiri Edition is heavy with detail and very durable. After months of designing, crafting, and fine tuning, they've made this dream a reality. Songbird's dream for the Kokiri edition was for it to be the most ergonomically comfortable, visually accurate, and musically pleasing plastic Ocarina of Time replica available. Looking for a plastic Ocarina of Time replica that looks and sounds amazing? Look no further, because Songbird Ocarina partnered with Stein Ocarina to create the world's premium plastic replica, the Ocarina of Time: Kokiri Edition!
